Tam is happy to announce that the FOB system for the club is being updated and upgraded. All members will be issued a new FOB moving forward after system installation in the coming weeks.

This new system is at no cost to members if the FOB fee has already been paid. However, all tennis members that were issued a FOB previously, will be required to return it to the club.

FOBs can be returned in the following ways:

    • Drop FOB into the brown lock box that's on the table in the tennis vestibule
    • Drop FOB in the mailbox at the east entrance to the club
    • FOBs can also be dropped off by coming into the club during regular office hours
    • The Bubble and east entrances will remain open during regular play hours until this new FOB system is in place.
    • Stay tuned for further updates on when new FOBs will be issued.

Thank you in advance for your support and assistance in moving forward with this system upgrade.

Many of our members like the convenience of being on pre-authorized payment, meaning their statement balance is charged to their credit card on or about the 15th of each month. They can then pick up their statement any time after the 15th.

Many don’t even bother to pick up their statements regularly. In these instances, their statements just accumulate for when they do decide to pick them up. Anyone not currently on pre-authorized payment is encouraged to consider signing up. What could be easier? Below is a link to the form. Just fill it out and email it to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or drop it off in the office.

    Credit Card Pre-Authorization Form

For anyone not on pre-authorized payment, here are your statement pickup options. The statements for March are now available for pickup. When the office is open, just come to the office window. And when the office is closed, your statement will be available for pickup at the bar. If you are picking up your statement at the bar, we ask that you time your pickup strategically (i.e. please don’t ask for your statement when the bar is busy).

Payment can be made over the phone via credit card, even if you haven’t yet picked up your statement. When you call to pay, please choose extension 3. Cheques sent by mail are also acceptable if that’s your preference.

    Thanks,
    Jason

Masks must be worn at all times while moving around the club. Masks will not be mandatory when playing tennis or when curling. Tam Heather is pleased to announce the reopening of our tennis bubble on Monday, March 21, 2022.

Refunds for 50% of the tennis winter memberships will still be issued, as promised. However, we have experienced a delay due to an unexpected barrier in technology and staff shortages due to illness. If you have a pre-authorized credit card arrangement on file, your refund will be made through that account. Otherwise, one of our staff will contact you individually.

Tam Heather will offer the remaining winter tennis season balance to members at no cost. For leagues, block bookings and court rentals, fees will apply as per usual. Any leagues and block bookings that wish to continue for the remainder of the season need to contact the office prior to Thursday March 24th.

One addition note, our fob system has experienced a service interruption. We will either have the tennis bubble door unlocked for your convenience, or we will notify members if a new fob is required in the future (free of charge for existing membership). Our staff will be monitoring the bubble door to ensure the security and safety of members.

We want to thank you for your continued understanding and flexibility as we get back to play at Tam Heather.

    Jason

Over the past week or so, myself and directors on the Board have received emails and phone calls alerting us of a recent increase in the number of Covid cases among our curling members and staff. I met with the Board of Directors on Wednesday evening to review the situation, and we concluded that immediate action had to be taken.

For the safety of our Tam Heather curling members and staff, the Board of Directors has decided to suspend curling from 12:01am Friday March 18th to midnight Sunday March 27th.

As always, the health and safety of our Tam Heather members and staff must be our primary concern. We hope this move will eliminate this recent spike in the number of infections, and assist and support us all in staying well.

We will continue to provide updates as necessary.

    Thanks
    Jason

Before you dust off your rackets, please know that there is still more work to be done. In order to get back to play, the City's insurance company and Farley will both be attending a shared onsite visit at Tam next Tuesday, this visit should provide some additional information on our current state. Tam's insurance company will also be required to come onsite to fully assess the interior/property damage?

We will provide you with updates as they become available. Please click on the picture to see more images of the inflation.

    Club Information

Tam Heather, or the “Tam” as we call it, is an active friendly club located in the Morningside and 401 community of Scarborough. Tam Heather opened in 1973 as a curling club with eight sheets of ice, then two years later in 1975, the club expanded by adding five tennis courts, three of which were covered in the winter with a bubble. Thirty four years later, in 2009, a four court year-round covered structure was built.
