Tam Heather’s WCS Great White North Bonspiel

GWN Picture1GWN Picture2

On Saturday, March 15th the Tam Heather Women’s Curling Section hosted our Annual Great White North Bonspiel. We had a full draw of 16 teams which sold out in a matter of days. We had 2 teams visiting from Oshawa G&C and one from Leaside CC. It was a day full of the traditional Red and Black plaid as well as many costumes proudly wearing Red and White showing our true Canadian Spirit!!

This popular bonspiel had a lot to offer, more than just good curling and Great White North atmosphere. We had our amazing raffle table, draw to the button challenge, Canadian/Curling Trivia and Costume contest!! The feeling of comradery was evident by the laughter and support everyone gave each other throughout the day.

Club Information

Tam Heather, or the “Tam” as we call it, is an active friendly club located in the Morningside and 401 community of Scarborough. Tam Heather opened in 1973 as a curling club with eight sheets of ice, then two years later in 1975, the club expanded by adding five tennis courts, three of which were covered in the winter with a bubble. Thirty four years later, in 2009, a four court year-round covered structure was built.
