• Worked at CIBC 1990-2017, first in Accounting Policy – Investment Banking, then held various jobs within Risk Management, Finance and Treasury
• Wrote several Banking Policies which the Bank Regulator (OSFI) adopted, and these became world-wide standards for banking best practices
• For several years ran the unit that controlled the largest banking system within CIBC and was considered the “professor” answering questions relating to that system until retirement
• Received Chartered Accountant designation while working for KPMG

Activities

• Winter: curling for about nine years and cross-country skiing
• Summer: golf, slow pitch baseball and cottaging

Volunteer Experience

• Entering third year as Vice-President of the Tam Board. During these three years I’ve sat on the following committees: Nominating, Governance, Finance and currently Chair of the Human Resources committee.
• Board member at Scarboro Golf and Country Club for three years of which two years served as Treasurer. Member of the Finance Committee for six years.

Professional Career

• Recently retired CPA with a career in finance that has spanned over 40 years during which time I’ve held senior management positions within large corporations (Alcan, Xerox, ADP) across a variety of industries including technology, financial services, manufacturing and Not-for-Profit.

Activities

• My wife and I have been curling members for 15 years at various clubs, joining Tam in 2020. We are currently golf members at Scarboro Golf and Country Club.
• During the summer months, our activities include biking, kayaking and gardening.
• Our recent travels have included several countries in Europe, Southeast Asia and Central America.

I am a Canadian Citizen living in Toronto since 1965.

I am a retired Dental technologist. My education is High school classical. University Dental.

I owned my business with employees for 25 years. I was a manager for a big dental laboratory, supervising 70 people during 5 years. I worked part-time as a technician for 8 years.

I have been a teacher of my profession at George Brown and University of Dentistry.

Member of Tam Heather Tennis Club for the last 5 years.

Hobbies: tennis, ballroom dancing, and anything related to history.

I have been serving on the Board of CDTO for 15 years, in different committees. Knowledgeable in Ontario MOHLT Constitution.

I have been also serving for 9 years on the Board of my Condo, in different capacities.

My knowledge as a secretary is extensive: to take minutes at meetings and AGM, keeping records, copies and documents.

Capable to communicate with staff and Board members. Also able to Chair Board meetings.

I speak English and French.

I would be interested in the position of Secretary, as I believe in helping the community and the Club, and I guess, after so many years as a member, it is my duty and a privilege, to return some of these privileges, by helping the Club and the Board, where deemed necessary.

I am a curling member at Tam. I started curling in 1999/2000 at Scarborough Golf and Country Club, joined Royal Canadian Curling Club when Scarborough closed its curling section, and moved to Tam in 2020 when I retired. I curl in the women’s section. I skip in Monday night rated and Tuesday daytime team entry, and I vice in Wednesday night team entry. I spare for the open and mixed sections, and periodically I play in the Thursday morning ladies tag draw. I assist with bonspiel and event registration for the women’s section.

I received a BSc (Hons) in math from Queens University in 1985, and my chartered accountant (CA, now CPA) designation in 1988. Commencing in 1986, I worked at PriceWaterhouseCoopers in audit, focused on real estate, pension and mutual funds and banks, and then in the national accounting research department. I joined Oxford Properties Group, a real estate owner and manager, in 1996, as a director and then VP, with responsibilities in corporate and property accounting. I worked on numerous transactions, was involved in the creation of a new budgeting system, and the set up of a new defined contribution pension plan. I was asked to move to OMERS (Oxford's parent) in February 2004 to start a new group, as VP Financial Controller Private Investments, overseeing OMERS’ real estate, infrastructure and private equity investments.

I joined EPIC Realty Partners Inc., a newly formed property management company, in August 2005, ultimately as SVP & CFO. I was responsible for creating and implementing policies and procedures for the new company, and implementing the accounting system. My role included accounting, client reporting, payroll, HR, IT, income taxes, review of legal documents, banking/treasury, insurance, and corporate secretariat work. EPIC expanded geographically across Canada and into asset management. At the end of 2016 we combined our business with two other companies to create EPIC Investment Services Limited Partnership. I was very involved in the transaction, and remained SVP & CFO of the new organization, with the same responsibilities I had at EPIC. I retired at the end of March 2020.

I served as a member of the board of directors of Family Day Care Services, an NPO focused on centre and home based child care, as treasurer for 8 years. Near the end of my tenure I led the transition process to set up a new pension plan, and I participated at a member of the union negotiation team.

I have been an active member of Tam for over 20 years, participating in mixed, daytime, and evening women’s curling. I also enjoy representing Tam in various bonspiels both at our club and at others.

My professional background is strongly rooted in customer service—whether in person, online, or over the phone. I am passionate about helping Tam maintain its positive reputation while supporting efforts to attract and retain members.

Although I’m only a casual tennis player at the park, I enjoy the sport and look forward to learning more about our tennis membership and working with the team to support our shared goals.

Board liaison with the City of Toronto ( Landlord) for lease renewal & the $2.7 million dollar Provincial / Federal / Municipal capital grant for upgrade of Tam facilities (under the direction of the City of Toronto)

35 years experience working in commercial real estate, property & asset management.

I have been a curling member of Tam Heather for more than 30 years, curling in the Evening Women, Daytime Women and Mixed Ladder leagues.

I have been an active participant in committees, including many years as President of the Business Women‘s Section and then the amalgamated Women’s Section. Most recently I have chaired the Curling Committee.

In the off-season I can be found on the water competing in dragonboat or on the golf course playing a round with friends.

I am enjoying my retirement from a long career in Organization Development at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital and am pleased I can still apply those skills and experience on the Tam Board of Directors.

I am an enthusiastic member of Tam Heather and a passionate advocate for our tennis community. For the past few years, I have been a member of the Intercounty Ladies team and the Toronto Ladies team here at Tam, as well as a B1 player in the STF League at Thomson Park.

My professional background combines business strategy with technical execution. With a Master of Science in Computing Innovation and E-Commerce (University of the West Indies) and a Bachelor of Commerce in Business Information Systems (Ryerson University), I have held key leadership roles at Scotiabank and as an IT Consultant, guiding teams through complex business transformations and infrastructure modernization.

In recent years, I have focused heavily on volunteering. I have been a National Bank Open volunteer for the past four years, working in Guest Services where I welcome guests and ensure positive experiences for all attendees. Currently, I serve as the IT Director for the InterCounty Tennis Association and the Communications Director for the Thomson Park Tennis Club.

I am honored to be considered for the Tennis Liaison role and look forward to the opportunity to serve the Tam Heather community.

I grew up in a curling family, where every Friday night was spent at the small 4 sheet curling club with family and friends. Since that time curling has been a consistent part of activities. My involvement and passion for Tam Heather began when my husband and I were looking for a date night and joined the mixed Ladder section in 1992.

We quickly became involved with the mixed committee, Little Rocks, Bantam Junior programs and special events in the club including the 25th Anniversary Committee and hosting the OCA Junior Provincials in 2006.

After stepping away for a few years I found myself returning to Tam and becoming involved not only on the ice but in a variety of volunteer activities including organizing the 50th Anniversary celebration, serving on Women’s Section Executive as the Curling Development Liaison, and launching and convening the Thursday Open 4:45 League.

I carried my passion of curling into my teaching career, coaching at Elementary School Provincials, classroom visits to curling clubs, encouraging the growth of the game through Rocks and Rings participation with students.

I was an elementary teacher for TDSB for 27 years, which included a variety of Teaching and coaching roles.

While I am not curling I enjoy being a Grandmother, golfing, swimming and cottaging with family and friends.
