The Curling sections of Tam Heather provide social and competitive curling for all ages from mid-October until mid-April. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced curler, Tam Heather offers top notch curling. Instructional clinics are held for novice and experienced curlers. Special events throughout the year allow members and friends to join in fun and fellowship.
At the beginning of each curling season, Tam Heather offers a Learn to Curl program for those of you new to the sport. Check out website in September/October for the latest details For non-members, the cost of renting one sheet of ice for 2 hours is $180.00 (plus HST). The club provides sliding tape and brooms. Coaching / instruction is a requirement for new curlers ($50 for each group of 8 or less)
Jitneys are social evenings held on selected Saturday nights. This is curling strictly for fun. Put a team together ... bring your friends, family, new curlers, anyone. Sign up, come out and have a great time.
A bonspiel is a curling tournament, consisting of several games. Bonspiels can be completed in a single day, or take multiple days to complete, often over a weekend.
Clubs can host in-house bonspiels, for the enjoyment of their members, or Invitational bonspiels where teams from several clubs compete again each other for trophies or prizes.
