Tam Heather Practice Week September 29 – October 5, 2025

Tam Heather Practice Week September 29 – October 5, 2025

We are pleased to offer practice ice for our Tam Heather members to assist in getting the cob webs off your equipment and to get the muscles back in shape for the beginning of the curling season.

  1. You MUST log into the website to book practice ice.  See available practice ice times and sheets on desired day(s) that you would like to practice.
  2. Daytime practice ice on Monday to Friday will be first come, first serve. No reservation required between the hours of 10:00am – 3:00pm.
  3. Reservations are limited to a maximum of 4 players per sheet. If you wish to play a practice game (4 vs.4), perhaps consider reserving 2 sheets, using both sheets to practice for the first half hour, then all move to one sheet and play a game for the remaining half hour.
  4. Practice sessions are 30 minutes in length.
  5. Members are asked to limit their practice to 2 session per day
  6. Please be sure to include the names of all your practice partner(s) on your reservation.
  7. A couple of warm-up stretches while you are waiting might be a good idea.
  8. After one hour of perfecting your draw weight and enjoying being back on the ice, please exit the ice area in a timely matter for the next practice session to begin.
  9. Unfortunately, bar and kitchen service are not yet available; so, we cannot invite you to stay for a drink or something to eat. We can only say how good it was to welcome you back and ask you to depart promptly in order that we start preparations for the next practice session.

GOOD CURLING!!!

Club Information

Tam Heather, or the “Tam” as we call it, is an active friendly club located in the Morningside and 401 community of Scarborough. Tam Heather opened in 1973 as a curling club with eight sheets of ice, then two years later in 1975, the club expanded by adding five tennis courts, three of which were covered in the winter with a bubble. Thirty four years later, in 2009, a four court year-round covered structure was built.
