Practice Ice Guidelines

To help ensure everyone has an opportunity to get back on the ice and prepare for the upcoming season, we ask members to please follow these guidelines:

  1. Practice sessions are limited to one hour.
  2. Members are asked to limit themselves to a maximum of two practice sessions per day.
  3. Reservations are limited to a maximum of four players per sheet. If you would like to play a full practice game (4 vs. 4), please consider reserving two sheets. Both groups can use the two sheets to practice for the first half hour and then move to one sheet for a practice game during the remaining half hour.
  4. Please include the names of all practice partners when making your online reservation.
  5. We encourage everyone to take a few minutes to warm up and stretch before stepping onto the ice.
  6. At the end of your one-hour session, please exit the ice area promptly so the next group can begin its scheduled practice session on time.

Club Information

Tam Heather, or the “Tam” as we call it, is an active friendly club located in the Morningside and 401 community of Scarborough. Tam Heather opened in 1973 as a curling club with eight sheets of ice, then two years later in 1975, the club expanded by adding five tennis courts, three of which were covered in the winter with a bubble. Thirty four years later, in 2009, a four court year-round covered structure was built.
