The Women’s Curling Section hosted our annual Christmas Craft and Bake Sale Bonspiel on Saturday, November 29. It was a very successful day with a full draw of 64 curlers dressed up in their favourite festive attire.
The club was decorated for Christmas by the WCS and was alive with Curlers, Tam members and friends purchasing from a vast variety of items at our Bake Sale and impressive display from our Craft Vendors. Thank you to everyone who donated baked goods/jams/pickles and more as well as everyone who purchased these delicious items. An amazing total of $2,128 was raised to support the bonspiel and the WCS. Thank you to Arlene and all your volunteers.

The curlers started their day with a tribute to Curling Legend Colleen Jones (65), who passed away earlier in the week. We watched a CBC Presentation highlighting her life and curling career. We celebrated her accomplishments, raising the profile of curling for women and being an inspiration to accomplish great things in life.
We collected donations for the Scarborough Food Security Initiative. Our curlers donated a total of 9 large bags of food items and $245 in cash donations. They were very grateful to receive this generous donation.
Tam Heather Curling club is diligently adhering to all AGCO Regulations, therefore, we are no longer holding our usual Raffle Table and 50/50 Draws. Nevertheless, we did have a Door Prize table with a wonderful display of donated items from our WCS curlers and Vendor donations. Thank you everyone.
At our Great White North Bonspiel in March, we will be having a Silent Auction and are currently looking for donations that would support this fundraising event. Our Bonspiel success was truly due to the dedicated volunteers who helped in every part of the day. We welcome any new volunteers that are interested in joining this wonderful group of women.
