Membership Communication for Special Meeting and Annual General Meeting

To All TAM members

As I write this invitation, the kids are going back to school and it really does feel a little like fall. It is too early to put away the golf clubs, but you might be thinking about getting back to the curling rink. Well, here is the first step.

I would like to invite you and your TAM friends to TWO special meetings, both to be held on Monday September 30, 2024 in our newly renovated Tam Upper Lounge.

6:30 PM

Bar Opens (see our newly renovated Upper Lounge and socialize with your friends before the meetings). Refreshments will be served.

7:00 PM

Special General Meeting to discuss and approve our new “Rules of Governance” (old school it was the Constitution). We passed some of these changes last year, now we see the full document.

7:30 PM

Annual General Meeting
In addition to our regular annual general meeting items, please see below, there are three positions available on our Board of Directors, and for two, we need to have ELECTIONS.

For Treasurer, Sandra Gay is being acclaimed.
For Curling Liaison, our two candidates up for election are Nancy Killey and Mike Rowley.

For Membership Director, our two candidates up for election are Jackie Adams and Morteza Alabaf,
All documents, including a short bio of all of the candidates can be found on our website under the Governance menu item (login required)

Under our current constitution, there will be in-person voting and proxy voting allowed for both meetings. If you are unable to attend the above meetings, please complete the Proxy Voting form and delegate your vote to one of your friends who will be attending the meetings. The Proxy Voting form also available on our website under Resources, Governance.  Please note the Proxy Voting Form must be submitted to Tam NO LATER THAN 5:00PM ON SEPTMBER 28, 2024.

Please join me, your Tam Board of Directors and your friends to socialize, reminisce about where the summer went and we can get some business done as well at our two meetings noted above.

Regards

Club Information

Tam Heather, or the “Tam” as we call it, is an active friendly club located in the Morningside and 401 community of Scarborough. Tam Heather opened in 1973 as a curling club with eight sheets of ice, then two years later in 1975, the club expanded by adding five tennis courts, three of which were covered in the winter with a bubble. Thirty four years later, in 2009, a four court year-round covered structure was built.
