Hello Members of Tam Heather Curling & Tennis Club,
The City of Toronto has commenced much-needed construction on Morningside Avenue from Highway 401 to Pan Am Drive with construction anticipated to last until December 2026. (See attached notice for further details).
As a result, there will be traffic impacts along Morningside Avenue and within the surrounding area.
Below is the traffic plan that will be implemented while school is open to minimize disruptions as much as possible.
Traffic plan when school reopens:
- During Tams Road & Pan AM intersection works, a Pay Duty Police officer will be present during working hours, (typically 7.00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.). Additionally, the contractor will have flaggers and add additional signage to help with traffic flow.
- Tams Road has been switching between one-way and two-way traffic.
When it is one-way, police or enforcement will be present at Morningside and Tams to prevent vehicles from travelling in the prohibited direction.
- Bus stops will be relocated temporarily through the work zone as per direction of TTC.
- Pedestrian directional sign will be used at each end of temporary walkway.
