The Closing Bonspiel for 2023

Good Day all Male Tam Heather Members

You are cordially invited to play in this years Tam Heather Men’s Section Closing Bonspiel.  This year, in order to give newer members a chance to meet and play with curlers from other divisions and sections, the Men's Closing Bonspiel for 2023 will be a "Rated" event. Curlers sign up as individuals and are assigned to teams. The entry fee is $50 per curler most of which is given out as prize money. The entry fee also includes entry to the Men’s Awards night that includes food and activities.  Each team plays four games together. One game on each of Tuesday March 21st, Thursday March 23rd, Tuesday March 28th and Thursday March 31st. Games are at either 7:00 pm or 9:00 pm.

• The Men's Section does not have divisional playoffs. The Closing Bonspiel is the only Men's event held after the season ends.
• We avoided March break this year: Monday March 13th to Friday March 17th.
• We can accommodate up to 128 curlers. Depending on the turnout, it may be necessary to cap the event at 64 or 96 curlers.
• Male curlers not playing in the Men's Section are welcome to sign-up,
• The Men's Committee will attempt to balance the teams as best they can. If you have any questions or requests, enter a comment when signing up.
• Teams can play in any order and change that order game to game.
• Spares can be used but may only play front end.
• Team lists and the bonspiel brackets will be published on the website complete with up-to-date results and match-ups.
• Opponents for the first games will be determined by a card draw on the first night.
• No bell rule.
• Ties after 8 ends are broken with a draw to the button with sweeping.
• Losers on Thursday March 28th will play 6-end Skins games for cash prizes on Thursday March 30th.
• Cash prizes will be awarded at the Men's Closing Night being held on Thursday April 6th in the Tam Heather lounge beginning at 7:00 pm.
