The ‘Golf Fore You’ theme this year was by all evidence a BIG success; the overwhelming feedback that followed was that the event scored much better than Par.
For those who teed it up with us, on the 'course' (32 Teams) and the 150 players and guests in the 'clubhouse', we Thank You ALL Very Much for your great support.
The Heritage Mixed Bonspiel has a long legacy of excellence. We uphold that standard now at Tam Heather where it continues as possibly the largest one day Mixed Spiel in the Province and certainly one of the very best.
The dedicated work of our Organizing Committee , together with Your enthusiastic participation, makes it so!
Against a window backdrop of 18 challenging holes ,we celebrated many winners throughout the evening and even poked a little fun at some of those that didn't quite make it to the prize circle.
Whether or not you made it onto the final leaderboard, and up to the prize table, the best part of the ‘Golf Fore You’ round was the fun and fellowship among friends ,old and new. Congratulations goes to every single Team!
We must of course recognize our Championship Team of the day:
Thunderous applause goes to the Leaside Curling Club Team of Lynne & Ian Burdett & Rob & Dorothy Greenaway.
What a Foursome ! They won 2 Games by a wide points margin and, with that, the coveted Tam Heritage Trophy!
Well done Burdett / Greenaway!!
We had a host of other prize winners by way of the many raffles, draws, contests and giveaways.
Remington, Pickering and Stonehenge Golf Clubs all sponsored foursomes to a round of golf.
Moosehead donated a snowboard ( watch for draw winner Tony Chin on the hills). Some lucky folks went home to enjoy appetizers on a Curling Charcouterie Board, handmade by our very own emcee John Tambling.
They followed those app’s by enjoying a relaxing spa treatment of soothing stuff donated by Beth Manol.
Mr Bob Tune surrendered a pair of Leaf tickets to a highly sought game vs The Flyers. Peter Janssen was the lucky recipient , but he quickly realized that he would not be able to attend . So he 'scalped' the tickets to another fan and promptly donated all of the proceeds to our charitable cause!!! Thank you Peter for your kind gesture!
The biggest Winner of all is the Local Food Bank!
Through your generosity we together raised almost $1000 for their much needed restock of food shelves. Another WELL DONE Everyone!!!
So that’s it …our Heritage ‘Course’ is ‘closed’ for another season.
Your Organizing Committee:
Judi & Hugh McDonald (Chair); Debbie & David Beaumont; Linda & David Ilson; Beth & Bob Manol; Karen & John Tambling ; Donna Worden ( and the gang of many excellent helpers and Staff!)
