Sad News Vienna “Dee” Beers

Vienna BeersBEERS, VIENNA "DEE" DEMARRIS (nee SPENCE) Died peacefully, after a short stay in the hospital on December 23, 2022, in her 88th year. Dee was the loving wife of the late Charles Frederick for over 64 years. She was a loving and devoted mother to her children, Kathryn (Wayne) and the late Greg (Debbie).

She was a proud Granny to Megan, Colin (Cassie), Katie and Erin. Her passions were tennis and spending time with friends, made both on and off the court. She was a force to be reckoned with on the court. Off the court, all were welcome in the home she made with Freddie, especially to enjoy summers by the pool and the annual Boxing Day party. She loved music, dancing, and was happy if she found herself with a beach nearby.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Scarborough General Hospital for their care and compassion during her stay. We are consoled by knowing she's now reunited with Freddie and Greg.

A visitation will take place on Monday, January 2, 2022, from 4-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2022, at 2 p.m., with a visitation one hour prior. The visitation and funeral will be located at The Simple Alternative Funeral Centre Pickering, 1057 Brock Rd., Pickering.

Donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation. Please visit Dee's memorial page at etouch.ca for service details, online guestbook, and donations.

    Club Information

Tam Heather, or the “Tam” as we call it, is an active friendly club located in the Morningside and 401 community of Scarborough. Tam Heather opened in 1973 as a curling club with eight sheets of ice, then two years later in 1975, the club expanded by adding five tennis courts, three of which were covered in the winter with a bubble. Thirty four years later, in 2009, a four court year-round covered structure was built.
