On-line Registration for the 2021 – 2022 Tennis Season

On-line registration for the 2021 – 2022 tennis season will open at

9:00AM on Monday August 23, 2021

Things to keep in mind:

Registration

  • Members interested in league play are requested to complete their registration no later than September 15 in order to give league convenors time to make up their schedules.
  • Registrations are usually not complete until fully paid. Due to the current situation with COVID-19, we will not be taking payment at this time. You will be notified when payment is due.
  • Members who rolled all or a portion of last year’s payment over to this season will see their credit appear when they reach Step 5, the Review step before submitting their registration.
  • A new Capital Levy ($25) has been added this season. This is being done to raise money for future Capital Improvements that are not the responsibility of the City (i.e. furniture)

Vaccination Policy:  As part of their on-line registration, everyone 12 years of age and over wishing to become a member of Tam Heather Curling & Tennis Club will be required to sign off on a declaration that they are fully vaccinated for COVID-19.  Accommodation will be considered for anyone with a Medical or Religious exemption from the COVID-19 vaccination.

Rowan’s Law – Concussion Safety: This Act, passed by the Ontario Government earlier this year, imposes various requirements on sports organizations in connection with concussion protocol and amateur sports. Members under 26 years of age, as well as their parent (for athletes under 18) are responsible for understanding and agreeing to the protocols detailed under this act.  Specifics, as it pertains to Tam Heather are provided on the 2021-2022 Membership signup (Step 4 – Agree to Club Waiver) page which we encourage you to read and agree to as part of your registration process.

Elevator installation: Work is proceeding nicely on the new elevator (you should see the mess!!!), but the beginning of the season is fast approaching. The contractor has promised to do everything possible to not disrupt the start of our season, but we’ve heard that before. So we may have to do some last minute improvising if it turns out that the west entrance to the clubhouse is not available right away. Fingers crossed that the work will be completed in time.

New Members Wanted: The success of Tam is dependent on the addition of new members. The best way to recruit is through the existing membership and, to this end, we ask all members to encourage friends and family to try the sport and join Tam.

The “Buy One, Get One Free” program is back again this winter for weekday daytime play.

See you soon.

Cheers,
Doug

Club Information

Tam Heather, or the “Tam” as we call it, is an active friendly club located in the Morningside and 401 community of Scarborough. Tam Heather opened in 1973 as a curling club with eight sheets of ice, then two years later in 1975, the club expanded by adding five tennis courts, three of which were covered in the winter with a bubble. Thirty four years later, in 2009, a four court year-round covered structure was built.
