On January 22, 2025, the Tam Heather Women’s Curling Section hosted our Mardi Gras Invitational Bonspiel.
It was an exciting and colourful day. The club was beautified by plenty of Purple, Green and Gold.
We had 14 teams from outside clubs and 2 from our own club participating. The day was full of good curling, activities and prizes to be won. Our sponsors and donors made it possible for many happy winners. Our trivia contest was educational, the costume contest parade entertaining, our lunch included Jambalaya and for dessert a King Cake “find the hidden baby” suspenseful.
Our team of 20 volunteers worked passionately to create an atmosphere of joy and enthusiasm. The teams all had a great time on and off the ice.
The two teams in the finals happen to end up being Tam Heather Teams. Team S. Brennan vs. Team C. Rhynas (for S. Gay). Team S. Brennan tied it up in the 5th end and Team Rhynas took the last point for the win by inches. It was a great challenging game over all.
