 Venerables Christmas Skins Bonspiel 2023
We held our Annual Skins Bonspiel on the thirteenth of December
And details about the rules many curlers could not remember
But after a quick lesson on the end of the word END
And after the replacement term of using the word skin did send
Some of the curlers were driven right around the bend
However, after all the rules of keeping a Skins format score
There was somewhat of an ahh, and too somewhat of a roar
But after the preamble of our skins was over and done
All of the curlers went onto the ice and had fun
When the scorecards came in to the committee to check
Every scorecard was perfect and scores were neck and neck
In fact, they were so close that in some cases there was a tie
And these scores came down to getting a coin and letting it fly
After a tasty lunch, 50 / 50 Draw, lots of chatter and a beer
It was time for game two, everyone was keen and we got a cheer
After Game Two and the fun was all over and scores were all in
It was time for dessert and to find out who would win

Cash prizes were given to every team no matter their place
But then it was time to see who actually won the big trophy race
Team LeBlond was in third, and Team Eldridge in second place
But nobody caught Team Warren in his two perfect game pace
Congrats to Ron Warren, Scott Duncan, Lee Rixon and Joe Flynn
On their efforts as a team and a Xmas Skins Championship win
Thank you to all 58 curlers who came out on this date
We look forward to the Presidents Bonspiel on January 8th!

The Canadian Junior Cup (formerly TCA Youth Championships) has emerged as the premiere Junior Curling event in the world attracting the national champions and top teams from across Canada and around the world.  Canadian Junior Cup runs from December 28th to December 30th at Oshawa Curling Club.

In our effort to create a world level competition experience for the teams we are looking for volunteers to do timing and scoring.  We have 10 draws on 8 sheets over 3 days that we need help with.

Great for people who want to come see some great curling and be a part of the action.  Also, a great chance for high school curlers to get involved and earn volunteer hours they need to graduate.

If you can join our team please contact Courtney for details.  This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Club Information

Tam Heather, or the “Tam” as we call it, is an active friendly club located in the Morningside and 401 community of Scarborough. Tam Heather opened in 1973 as a curling club with eight sheets of ice, then two years later in 1975, the club expanded by adding five tennis courts, three of which were covered in the winter with a bubble. Thirty four years later, in 2009, a four court year-round covered structure was built.
