The Toronto Blind Curling Club Needs Your Help

The TBCC is hosting the 2023 Ontario Provincial Vision Impaired Curling Championship at Tam Heather Curling Club on March 18, 2023 and requires VOLUNTEERS.

Please note that any volunteers may not engage or help with the decision making of the skips or other players. Keep in mind that this event of 3 games is the day after St. Patrick's Day.

TWO TYPES OF VOLUNTEERS REQUIRED:

B1 (Total Blind) Guides / Commentators: assist players from one end to the other, and describe the action of the game to the two B1's from each team. Full day participants preferred for this position (training will be provided). You must be at the club by 7:15am March 18th for training.

Designated Sweepers: to fill in for the B1 curlers who are unable to sweep. (Prefer strong sweepers, but all are welcome).

Game times: 8:45am, 12:45pm and 3:15pm.

If you are interested in volunteering, please reply by email with your name, phone number and email address

Club Information

Tam Heather, or the “Tam” as we call it, is an active friendly club located in the Morningside and 401 community of Scarborough. Tam Heather opened in 1973 as a curling club with eight sheets of ice, then two years later in 1975, the club expanded by adding five tennis courts, three of which were covered in the winter with a bubble. Thirty four years later, in 2009, a four court year-round covered structure was built.
